Do you know that over 300,000 women aged between 75–85 have been diagnosed with porous bones in 2020? Well, it’s surprising, but osteoporosis is one of the reasons for the increased death rate of older people.

According to the study, it is stated that this lethal disease has a greater diagnosed rate in women than men. Moreover, It has no early symptoms; therefore, it is also known as a “silent disease.” Osteoporosis is caused by increasing age and low bone mineral density (LBMD) in the human body. However, the disease can be cured if diagnosed earlier.

In this piece of content, I am sharing 5 signs which you can track once you cross your 30s to avoid risking your bone’s health.

1. Weak Gums:

Osteoporosis is a bone disease which just not only impacts hip bone, arms or shoulders. The disease has a greater impact on oral health. Receding or falling gums is one of the early symptoms to detect osteoporosis.

Moreover, ignoring the weak gums can incredibly damage your oral health. There is a strong relation between jawbones, gums, and teeth. So if you find you are losing your jaw, do contact an authentic dentist for screening.

2. Low Gripping Ability:

According to the clinical study, It is observed that losing gripping strength is highly correlated to the low bone mineral density (LBD). It is also one of the critical signs to detect porous bones.

The decrease in gripping ability may cause a person to fall or get a fracture by a slightly hard touch. Most people facing these symptoms are more likely to have a fragility wrist or finger fractured.

3. Loss In Height:

Here comes the most noticeable change due to osteoporosis which you or your family can notice. The disease shrinks your spine naturally, leading to a loss of 2 inches of height over time.

Additionally, it leads to poor structure and posture due to muscular imbalance. Also, this is a physical change that can be noticed by your surrounding people and can be treated early.

4. A Curved Or Stooped Spine:

Osteoporosis weakens your bones and makes them bend easily. There is a condition where your bone bends forward and adapts to a curved or stooped shape. As the disease grows, more bones break, making the spine bends more.

However, the severe condition is also known as “kyphosis”, sometimes called “dowager’s hump”. So, if any of you feels a curved effect on your spine, immediately consult your doctor.

5. Strong Bones Break Easily Than Expected:

Well, there is a risk of bone-breaking while falling from a height or having a serious accident, but osteoporosis patients might find it common that a slight fall or hit by anything might cause them a painful fracture.

Some strong bones like jaw bone, femur, and skull can be fractured or damaged. Fragile bones are the early indication of osteoporosis which might be neglected by most of us and become lethal.

Wrap Up:

Osteoporosis is one of the rising issues in the world; every one out of 4 men and women is affected by this disease. However, it has increased in women older than 45. I have covered some of the most common signs which you can track to keep your bones healthy.

If you find any of these symptoms in your body, consult your doctor and have proper medication to avoid this disease. I hope you find this piece helpful.
